Watkins Glen, NY

  • Renger van der Zande scores second consecutive IMSA pole position for the #93 Acura ARX-06
  • Colin Braun secures second-row starting position, goes third-quickest in sister #60 Acura ARX-06

The #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian ARX-06 will lead the field for the start of tomorrow's Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen IMSA race, with the team claiming back-to-back pole positions in 2025—this time with Renger van der Zande taking charge. Colin Braun will line up directly behind after going third fastest overall in the #60 Acura ahead of the third Michelin Endurance Cup round of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Notably, van der Zande's lap time of 1:31.558 made him one of only two drivers to break into the 1:31 threshold, while Braun clocked in at a competitive 1:32.167. The strong performances from both ARX-06s have them in prime position as they strive to collect Acura's seventh victory at Watkins Glen International, in addition to attempting to replicate a previous 1-2 finish from 2022. Winners at the most recent round at the Detroit Grand Prix, Yelloly and van der Zande also have the opportunity to score back-to-back wins.

Both full-season drivers in the #93 car have achieved victories in this event, with Nick Yelloly mostly recently winning the six-hour race in 2023. They will be joined by Honda Racing Corporation development driver Kaku Ohta, who is eager to add his name to Acura's successful history at this track.

Braun and Tom Blomqvist shared the podium together as Acura MSR teammates in 2023, attaining a third-place result. This time around, they are striving for the top step once the checkered flag waves Sunday evening.

Quotes

Renger van der Zande (#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Qualified 1st: “Pole position at Watkins Glen! It's always nice to be at the front of the grid, but tomorrow is a six-hour race and we have a long way to go with Nick and Kaku as my teammates. It's nice to bang out a lap out on new tires and low fuel at Watkins Glen. It doesn't get much better than this in our #93 Acura MSR car.”

Colin Braun (#60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Qualified 3rd: "Overall the Acura felt really good. It was probably the best car we've had all weekend, so that was a good thing for us. We definitely made some improvements from the last practice. I think putting it all together after making those changes from Practice 2 was the key and we hadn't really had very many consistent laps to feel what the tires do. Getting everything within the window was a good step forward for us. I feel like if we could redo it again we could find a little bit of performance in it, but overall I think we're in a good spot for the start of the race tomorrow."
