  • Acura #93 finishes fourth on the streets of Downtown Detroit
  • Sister #60 of Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun bounce back from lap one damage to finish seventh
  • Acura Meyer Shank Racing #93 team win IMSA Sustainability Award in Detroit

Acura finished just shy of the podium today in Detroit, with the #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing duo of Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande coming home fourth in a contact-filled Detroit Sports Car Classic.

The #93 Acura ARX-06 avoided most of the carnage of the day, starting third and completing just one pit stop in the 'super sprint' 100-minute race, coming home fourth at the line. The team also took home the IMSA Sustainability Award for their efforts today. The award factors in tire use, energy use and finishing position to determine the GTP entry with the best overall sustainability accomplishments in a single race.

The sister Acura Meyer Shank Racing #60 Acura ARX-06 was not as lucky in avoiding the carnage when Tom Blomqvist was hit by the #7 on lap one, resulting in damage that needed to be repaired by the team. Blomqvist and co-driver Colin Braun were able to recover to P7 at the checkered flag.

Quotes
Nick Yelloly
(#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished fourth: "P4 at the end. I think with how the pit stop cycle went and our pace, we can be quite happy with that. We kept it clean, we got all the points that we could today. We will all bounce back in Watkins Glen, I'm sure. Great work from everyone as always and good points towards the championship."

Colin Braun (#60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished seventh: "It was a challenging day and obviously not the start that we wanted which forced us into a not-so-ideal strategy. The guys on the 93 side got some good manufacturer points. I'm looking forward to going to Watkins Glen which I think will be a good race for us."
